We understand that recovery is often more than just linked to alcohol and drugs. We have a number of other ways in which we can support our clients.

Employment (IPS)

If employment is part of your recovery, we can help. We believe everyone is capable of doing some work if they want to, and we will support you with this.

Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an evidence-based service that matches people with work that they want to do.

Our support is available if you are in treatment at Change Grow Live, of working age and if you want it.

Nurses and health and wellbeing

Our in-service nurses offer on-site wound care, Hepatitis B vaccinations and flu vaccinations. You can find them at Richmond House, Tuesday mornings from 0930-1130.

Hepatitis C

We are working to eliminate Hepatitis C in Brighton and Hove for good. Our best defence against it is to get tested. Tests are quick, easy and free. They are offered across our Brighton and Hove services.

Just ask at reception or ask your Recovery Co-ordinator.

Treatment is easy, very effective and you can expect a cure after 1 tablet a day for 12 weeks. Your treatment will also be supported by the Hepatitis C Trust.

Liver Health

We offer FibroScans to assess the health of your liver. The scans are run as drop ins on a Wednesday from 09:00 till 16:00.

If needed, you will then have specialist follow up with our nurse.

Psychology

Our team includes Psychologists, Counsellors, and related roles. We work with the people who use our service in structured treatment to support them in their recovery journey. We offer a psychology group programme, amongst other projects and initiatives.

We also work with staff to support them in their roles and collaborate with services across Brighton and Hove to improve access to therapy for people with substance misuse difficulties.

FACT

Our family and carers team (FACT) are here for you if you're affected by someone else's drug or alcohol issues.

We support family members, partners, friends and more. We realise it can be painful and difficult, but we are here for you. We can offer support to anyone in the BN1, 2, 3 and 41 areas, even if the other person isn't getting support from us.

We also work with other organisations to help you with your recovery.

  • Oasis

    Oasis helps women, children and families with lived experience of drug and alcohol problems find the strength and opportunities to make choices that lead to change, not just for themselves, but for their families, their friends and their communities.

  • Cascade Creative Recovery

    Cascade Creative Recovery is a community based, peer-led charity who run drop-in groups to allow people to discover their creative self. These include: choir, yoga, mindfulness, art, drama, peer support groups and more. You can find them at Brighthelm Centre, and all of their activities are free.

  • Pathways to Health

    Pathways to health is a high quality, low-cost ear acupuncture service for people affected by stress, anxiety and depression, mental health issues, drug and alcohol dependency, and those living with HIV.

  • Terrence Higgins Trust

    The Terence Higgins Trust offer HIV and sexual health support and advice over the phone or in person via appointment.
