Positive Futures is a free and confidential drug and alcohol service for young people and concerned others in the Gateshead area. 

Whether you need support for your own or someone else’s substance use – Positive Futures can help. We take a flexible approach and can work in a way that suits you. That may involve support and appointments over the phone, in person at a place chosen by you, or by video call.

What we offer

  • Advice, information and support around drugs and alcohol for young people up to the age of 18.
  • One-to-one specialist support sessions around drugs and alcohol for young people up to the age of 18.
  • Support around stop smoking and vaping.
  • Specialist support to children who are impacted by parental substance or alcohol use aged 5 – 18.
  • Free training to professionals working in the Gateshead area.
  • Support to schools including training for teaching and non-teaching staff.
