What’s Going On?
A one-off session to support professionals to identify hidden harm and respond to the situation that hidden harm creates for a young person and their family.

Hidden harm is = a child or YP living with the impact of someone substance use
What’s Drugs and Alcohol Got To do With it
A thinking session, to familiarize yourself with the different substances young people use and deal.
We will cover different drugs and their effects, how young people think act, behave when they use, getting to grips with why young people are using drugs and alcohol, and a look at the different adolescent drug-using scenes and subcultures.

What’s the Deal?
A look at child drug dealing, identity, mindset, experience, new technologies, the business model, the modern marketplace it is happening and the issues of child criminal exploitation.
The course takes one full day, but we can do it over two half days if you'd like.

A course we would recommend to any practitioner who will encounter a young person who is drug experienced or drug curious.
We will cover how the illicit and legal drugs marketplace changing, new forms of substance use, popular drugs used by YP and what are the novel, new drug trends YP are enticed by, and what are their associated impacts.
A contextual look at adolescent substance using behaviour, role of peers, the teenage brain, developmental behaviours.
Recreational and dependent users and the unique risk-taking profile associated with these users.
A useful exploration of good practise within a drugs prevention agenda, what works? how can we use the principles and ethos of harm reduction to educate about drugs, prevent their use from escalating and reduce drugs related harm?
