Training and support for professionals

We offer advice and support for GPs with patients who are dependent on prescribed medications or on alcohol.

This includes assessment and treatment. The medicines we cover are opiate-based and painkillers. We can also offer advice on non-opioid based medicines, including benzodiazepines, pregabalin and anti-depressants.

Training for professionals

We offer drug and alcohol training for professionals in Barking and Dagenham. This covers a range of topics, including:

  • An introduction to our service
  • Our referral pathways
  • Awareness of alcohol and drug misuse
  • Trends in drug and alcohol use

We can also tailor the topic to your needs.

The training lasts between two and three hours.
