We offer advice and support to GPs who have patients who are dependent on prescribed medications or dependent on alcohol.

This includes assessment and treatment. The medicines we cover are opiate-based and painkillers. We can also offer advice on non-opioid based medicines, including benzodiazepines, pregabalin and anti-depressants.

We also offer training for professionals in Barking and Dagenham, focusing on drugs and alcohol. The topics included are:

  • An introduction to our service
  • Our referral pathways
  • Awareness of alcohol and drug misuse
  • Trends in drug and alcohol use

We can also cater the topic to your needs.

The training lasts between two and three hours.
