Independent Visitors Project - Hull

What is an Independent Visitor?

An Independent Visitor is someone just for you. They are someone there to listen to you and to talk to you about anything you want. They can give you help, advice, and support.

They'll also be someone you can do fun things you enjoy with. This might be bouncing in a trampoline centre, going for a chat and a drink, or just playing sports in a local park. You'll meet up on a regular basis and could have contact in between on the phone if you choose. We'll match you with someone who has similar interests to you.

You can have an Independent Visitor for as long as you like, and this will be discussed with you on a regular basis to find out how things are going.

To get an Independent Visitor, you can contact us directly by emailing: [email protected]

With your permission, your social worker or carer can refer you to us.

You can learn more about Independent Visitors in this video from the National Independent Visitor Network Project.
