Synthetic opioids – keeping yourself safe

Dangerous synthetic opioids have been found in drugs across the country.

Synthetic opioids, including fentanyl and nitazenes, are drugs that are made in labs to mimic the effects of other drugs, such as heroin. They are much stronger than heroin and can be very dangerous.

There have been accidental overdoses of people from heroin and other drugs that have been mixed with synthetic opioids.

Barking and Dagenham has an alert system in place to notify professionals and members of the public about dangerous contaminated drugs.

Test your drugs – ask us for a free kit

Your drugs may look the same, even if they are contaminated.

We can provide you with testing strips to see if nitazenes are present.
