Someone who has recently completed their journey has shared their experience of getting support from our Norfolk service:
“Walking through the doors at Change Grow Live almost a year ago, I was in a bad way internally. I was desperate, I was nervous and I was ashamed of what I had become.
Having been formally discharged from the service this morning – it is a bittersweet feeling for me to say the least.
I like to think of myself as a writer, yet the support, help, advice and guidance I have received whilst on this journey from Lydia I cannot seem to find the right words for.
From day one, I felt listened to, understood and supported in new ways and approaches to situations and also to the workings of my own mind.
There is clearly no “one size fits all” type of approach with Lydia and the way she works with service users as I felt valued and seen as an individual from the very start. It is partly due to this, that the advice and guidance I received was taken on board and actively applied to my own behaviours and thinking.
Now leaving the service, I feel like I have the tools needed to keep on progressing and growing and living. Without the help of Change Grow Live and Lydia especially, I absolutely would not be on the positive path I am now on. There is no question or doubt in my mind over that.
The work you do is incredibly important, inspiring and literally life changing.
I feel sad to be leaving the service but also very happy at the same time. A real happy though. Not some kind of fleeting, passing instant kind of pleasure. A real internal shift and a new outlook and hope for the future.
Thank you for the service you provide and thankyou Lydia for all you have done for me. I will never forget it and It will be with me forever.”
