Mohammed Fessal appointed to the Advisory Council for the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD)

22 January 2019

Congratulations to our Chief Pharmacist Mohammed Fessal who has been appointed to the Government’s Advisory Council for the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD).

The ACMD is an independent advisory body, which makes expert recommendations to the Government on controlling the impact of harmful drugs.

Mohammed’s appointment reflects a pharmaceutical career that has spanned multiple sectors in operational, financial, and clinical roles. Mohammed joined the Change Grow Live team in 2014 and leads on all areas of our medicines management, working to ensure the highest clinical standards.

Following his appointment, we spoke with Mohammed who told us that his priorities are “to share knowledge and suggest solutions with the key aims of reducing illicit drug use and increasing recovery from dependence”, as well as “to make a positive impact on the various challenges set out in the UK Drug Strategy”.

With such a wealth of experience and knowledge, we know that Mohammed is uniquely well placed to achieve those aims and we wish him every success in his new position.
