‘A painful and powerful reminder’ - Mark Moody responds to drug-related death statistics

The Office of National Statistics today released their report on the number of people who lost their life as a result of drug misuse in England and Wales during 2021.

There were 4,859 drug-related deaths in England and Wales in 2021.

Mark Moody, Chief Executive of Change Grow Live, said:

Every one of these deaths is a tragedy, and the only reasonable response to today's statistics is to redouble our efforts to stop more people losing their lives to drugs.

The Government’s new drug strategy is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to change things for the better, and Change Grow Live will work with partners, policy makers and the people who use our services to make sure that happens."
