How to order free needle exchange supplies to your home

Did you know, you can get needle exchange supplies posted to you for free? We’re working with Exchange Supplies on a new service called NSP Direct

It means you can order clean injecting equipment to your home and you won’t have to pay for the equipment or the delivery.

“NSP Direct has been a game-changer. I can order what I need, when I want it and most importantly for me, this can be done discreetly. This service fits in with my routine, working and my preferences, not the other way around”

- A service user who works full time and is using the scheme in Cheshire

How do I order?

  1. Get in touch with your local service who will give you a unique code.

  1. Sign up on the Exchange Supplies website using your code and put in some basic info about yourself.

  1. If you don’t have internet access, you can order on the phone: 01305 262244.

  1. Choose the products you need, ideally to last you for 4 weeks and check out.

  1. Your order will normally arrive in the post within 1-2 days in plain, non-identifiable packaging. Easy!

Why NSP Direct?

Although we’ve still been able to provide needle exchange during the pandemic, it’s not been ideal for everyone. We understand it’s hard to get to the service because of things like restrictions and people shielding. NSP Direct means we can make sure you’re safe and won’t run out of equipment.

How has it been going so far?

A Change Grow Live service manager said:

We were getting really worried about some people who we haven’t seen as much during covid, especially those who use the needle exchange regularly. NSP Direct has made a real difference. People can use the scheme without worrying about reusing needles, but know we are still here for them to see us when they can.

Peter Furlong, North West Harm Reduction lead said:

This is a great scheme we are pleased to be part of. I think of it a bit like free Prime Membership for our service users who need help in getting equipment during this difficult period.
