Coronavirus restrictions meant we couldn't see people in person, so our support groups moved online, using platforms such as Zoom. However, many of the people who use our services do not have access to digital devices and data. This meant they had significant barriers to accessing support for their drug and alcohol use.
We successfully applied for funding from Discover Digital user engagement small grants, administered by the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland in 2021. We used this to pay for digital devices and data packages so that people could attend our group work programme online.
