Festive Crafts with Cambridgeshire Recovery Service: A member's story
I've truly enjoyed expressing my creativity and exchanging ideas with fellow attendees at the Cambridge Akeman Centre's Wednesday craft sessions. It’s been more than just crafting; it's kept my mind engaged by having a sense of participation and given me excitement for the festive season. For the first time in years, I'm looking forward to Christmas and have even been inspired to do some Christmas crafting with my kids too.
Cambridgeshire Recovery Service has been my main support throughout my recovery journey, playing a huge role in boosting my self-confidence and self-esteem. Their encouragement to actively participate has not only increased my self-worth but has also contributed significantly to my goal of maintaining abstinence.
I owe a great deal of my progress to Emma and Jo; without their support I wouldn't have come this far in my recovery!
Spreading Festive Spirit at The Edge Fringe Fair
At this year's Fringe Fair hosted by The Edge Cafe, we had a great time engaging with the community, offering support, and spreading harm reduction awareness.
Our homemade non-alcoholic mulled wine was a hit, providing a festive, alcohol-free option that was welcomed by those who joined us. It’s a shame that such alternatives are often missing at Christmas Markets, but it made our contribution even more special.
Cheers to a festive season for everyone!
