On Friday 27th September 2024 at Power League in Manchester, the Change Grow Live football tournament final took place.
Prior to the arrival of the finals, we had won every game and won the South regional final.
Teams from all over the UK were eager and ready, including those of us representing the Barking and Dagenham Change Grow Live service!
The teams were split into two groups to complete to see who could make it through to the finals.
We were in a close match with Birmingham to claim the main cup winner title, where it was a close match initially in the lead at 2-0 with the opposing team.
However, despite a valiant effort, with a 2 - 0 lead, we were beaten in the final by Birmingham with a score of 3-2. The team consisted of Lived experience volunteers, people who our service and staff and everyone had a great time, and the trophy now takes pride of place at St Luke's.
