What we do

Christmas activities

A man and a woman stood in front of a christmas tree smiling at the cameraChristmas activities included decorating the Christmas tree at all of our bases, with hot chocolate, marshmallows and mince pies for everyone.

The Change Grow Live choir sang Christmas songs at Phoenix Mills during our Christmas party day. SHINE were on hand to provide festive food and activities. A great day was had by everyone!

We sourced food hampers from local charity, Winner’s Chapel and presented these to our hard-working volunteers to appreciate the amazing work they do.

Winter Olympics

We attended the Lancashire Winter Olympics for some fun and games. Over 150 people participated, and our Manchester team won the ‘Build a snowman’ game.

International Women's Day

We celebrated International Women’s day with a special event for the people we support, our volunteers and our staff. With inspirational speeches from women in recovery, fun activities, and fabulous food, everyone who attended enjoyed the day and left with a specially selected goodie bag and great memories.

Wellbeing event

In April, people who use our services, volunteers and staff visited Preston in Lancaster, to attend a wellbeing event alongside other Change Grow Live services across the North West.

It was great to meet new people from Manchester and beyond, learn new skills to benefit wellbeing, and be inspired to develop self-care strategies.

With an open mic session, sing alongs and guest speakers, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

Outreach Team

For many years our outreach team has worked in partnership with another local charity, Reach Out to the Community, locating and offering support to people suffering homelessness in and around Manchester. Our outreach workers provide advice and support around alcohol and substance use and also signpost to other services who can help with a range of issues including financial support, wellbeing and health advice and other services.
